However, we find ourselves returning to Hunter Douglas Vignette shades time and time again. While new window fashion products are being introduced all the time, Vignettes have proven themselves to be timeless. 

Endorsing a product is something we don't do lightly. Most of our custom shades at Adrette are handcrafted by local artisans. This process enables our craftspeople and us to maintain control over quality, and our standards are exceptionally high. It takes a lot for a manufactured product to win us over, but this is one we don't mind shouting from the rooftops about. For clean lines, elegance, and functionality, Vignettes are very hard to beat.

Vignettes are custom Roman shades made simple. There are no exposed strings or rings visible from the backside as they would be in a traditional Roman shade. This innovative design by Hunter Douglas ensures that your shades will look as clean and elegant to people standing outside your home as they do to those on the inside. 

When it's essential that your window treatments look good from the front of your house, Vignettes are an excellent choice.

Vignette shades create clean, beautiful lines, whether opened or closed.

Many homeowners consider how their shades will look when lowered, but how they appear when opened is just as important.

Hunter Douglas offers Vignettes in either the more traditional 4” Full Fold or the more simplistic 6” Flat Fold. Each pleating style comes with innovative lifting styles. 

Both the Full Fold and the Flat Fold are offered in the Rolling style, where the fabric rolls up and is concealed in a headrail; when fully raised, your view is unobstructed.

The other option is the Stacking style, which features the 4” Full Fold pleating, and the fabric stacks uniformly in consistent folds under a small fabric-covered headrail.

In either case, when raised, the folds stack neatly, requiring minimal dressing. When lowered, the folds overlap each other gently.

The smoothness and gentility of Vignette shades' operation is a vital part of what sets them apart. We've all had the experience of opening a shade that has an erratic or jerky motion as it raises. Their many cordless operating systems eliminate needless choking hazards for children and pets in the home.

Hunter Douglas offers amazing choices of fabrics for their Vignette line. These range from sheer fabrics for a softer, light-filtering look to heavier, more textured options for a more robust appearance.

In addition, Vignette shades offer three different kinds of linings, including sheer, light-filtering, and room-darkening options. 

All these options provide a wide range of choices for controlling how sunlight enters your living spaces and shapes the atmosphere within them. Utilize room-darkening options to create a private and comfortable bedroom environment. Choose soft, light-filtering fabrics that can fill public spaces with inspiration and warmth.

Hunter Douglas offers multiple lift system options for Vignette shades.

You have four options to choose from. 

• UltraGlide® features a retractable, soft-touch wand that uses a gentle pumping motion to raise the shade to the up position. Then, a slight tug allows the shade to self-lower.

• EasyRise® has a continuous loop cord that attaches to a wall-mounted cord tensioner, allowing you to raise and lower the shade by simply pulling on the cord. Pulling down on the front of the loop lowers the shade, and pulling down on the rear of it raises it.

• LiteRise® cordless operating systems allow you to raise and lower the shade by using the bottom handle on the hem bar. Simply push it up to raise the shade and pull it down to lower it. 

• PowerView® automation moves your beautiful shades to your schedule. It allows sophisticated control of your shades from the convenience of a mobile device or tablet.  This system also features an environmentally friendly, rechargeable battery wand option. 

Our favorite Vignette shades from Hunter Douglas

Of the many Vignette choices, the Duolite 6” Flat Fold shade is my personal favorite. 

It features a dual opacity system, a rolling Flat Fold sheer shade, plus a room-darkening back panel - all in one headrail. This product offers the beautiful symmetry of clean lines alongside practical solutions for privacy and light filtration.

Another product we love is the recent addition to the Hunter Douglas collection: a sheer linen fabric with clean, contemporary lines called "Leela."  When the sheer is in the down position, it softens the room by filtering the harsh sun. 

However, with a push of the remote control, a room-darkening fabric panel unwinds behind the sheer, creating a peaceful space for restful sleep! 

Vignette Duolite shades are another favorite of ours. They come standard with motorization and the PowerView smart automation system, which is easy to program and use.

Our final favorite thing about Vignette shades – is versatility!
